Growth: What I learned during Me-Made May
Whew, I had to take a few weeks to recover from me-made may but I'm back and I can't wait to share new makes with you. Now that the month of constant photo taking is over, I have decided to share what I learned and photos of some of my favorite looks. Proper reviews for certain patterns will follow this post.
First, here's what I learned. I can not fit more than half of the clothes in my closet. This includes things sewn over the last two years and ready to wear (picked up a few pounds). So each time I tried something on that didn't fit I placed it to the side to give away or donate to Goodwill. Second, I realized just how much I love dresses. I really like the simplicity of it. Find a matching cardigan or suit jacket and the right shoes and I'm on my way. Lastly, I realized that a good knit dress and skirt with great recovery goes a long way. I will definitely be adding more knit garments to my wardrobe.
With that being said I have my work cut out for me this year. I want to buy as little ready to wear as possible, so I'll be a busy sewing bee. If you want to see what I wore the entire month check out my instastory highlight on Instagram. Happy Sewing!
