Whole30Fabric Challenge: The First 10 Yards

I'm doing the #whole30fabricchallenge again, first to clear fabric off the shelf and second for sewing motivation. If you do not know about this challenge, check out the video at the end of this blog post. The first time I did this challenge, I gained insight into my fabric and notion shopping practices, and I've cut back on my spending in both categories. Thus far, I've sewn up 3 yards. My first two projects were New Look 6618 and Simplicity 8513.

This is the fifth bodysuit I've made using Simplicity 8513 (Original Review) and my first time making View C. The fabric is a double brush knit from JoAnn’s. I made no pattern adjustments but I should have did a backward shoulder adjustment. I also added a flounce along the wrap front using the flounce pieces from Simplicity 8337.

This is the second dress I've made using New Look 6618 (Original Review ). The fabric is a polyester knit from JoAnn’s. This time I made it as designed. I'm not sure if I'll be making a dress with this pattern again. While, I love the front gathered look, I'm not fan of how it looks at the back when tied at the front. I decided to wear it tied at the back but included photos of it tied at the front.

I’m planning my projects in 10-yard increments. So, my next five projects are planned, which should take me a little past the 10 yard mark. Here's a quick video of my next five planned projects and the fabric I'll use. Let me know if you’re participating in the challenge!
